My name is Amy Jackson and I am from a little South Island town called Timaru.

I first saw the New You Challenge in October of last year. I told my friend about it, had the interview with Jane and I didn’t get selected! So I just came on my accord in January of this year!

CFWM: What do you most look forward to when you come to CrossFit Waimakariri?

Amy: I think the most exciting this is- I really look forward to the work-outs getting posted every day. Especially when you’re going to the class- or even if you’re not going to that class- it’s fun tracking how everyone’s progressing. And then when you get to class I think it’s awesome that you’re there supporting people and everyone’s achieving and getting better.

CFWM: What is the most exciting thing you have done recently?

A: I just got back from Rarotonga, I had a week there with two of my besties.

CFWM: That’s fun, what did you guys do there?

A: Not a lot. Which is probably good. Lots of cocktails.

CFWM: Are there any fears you have conquered lately?

A: I do have quite a few fears– but in terms of conquering, I’m not 100% sure. So, a few weeks ago, I was in the forest and I have this absolute hate of any sort of flying insect and I managed to walk through past some beehives.. Without screaming or running. I was pretty stoked with that.

CFWM: I’d say that counts! That definitely counts. Would you let us hook up your ‘Recently Played’ playlist from Spotify onto the gym speakers?

A: Of course I would, but I don’t know that there’d be much hardcore exercise going on.. It’s

CFWM: What is your favorite movie of all time?

A: Well I’m actually not too much of a movie person cause I can’t sit still for more than 5 minutes but if I had to choose probably The Lion King.

CFWM: Say a six-year-old kid asked you if Santa Claus is real…. What would you answer?

A: That they should stay awake for the night when Santa Clause arrives to see if it’s true or not.

CFWM: What is your best PR or Crossfit moment?

A: Oooh, that’s a super hard one. Cause there’s so many different things you can get better at it’s hard to pick one.. But I was really stoked, a few months ago I managed to do 60 strict push-ups in a work-out without going down to kipping once. And then I think my biggest

CFWM: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

A: I think if anything- probably just to say, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!
